Physician Spotlight: Dr. Chris Lowe, Board-Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Chris Lowe is a board-certified dermatologist at Galen Dermatology. He’s always enjoyed science and helping others, so medicine was a natural fit for him career wise. Dr. Lowe received his MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and went on to complete an internship with Madigan Army Medical Center, followed by his dermatology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Lowe joined the Galen team in 2019, but has been practicing dermatology full time since 2013. Both Dr. Lowe and his wife grew up in the Chattanooga area, and were thrilled to have an opportunity to return home so Dr. Lowe could practice at Galen Dermatology. His long term goal for the practice is to steadily, safely, and ethically grow their patient base, providing quality care to as much of Chattanooga and the surrounding areas as possible.

One thing Dr. Lowe appreciates about practicing dermatology is the variety it brings for him as a doctor. “We see patients of all ages and backgrounds with problems varying from inflammatory skin disorders to skin cancer and do numerous different types of procedures each day. We can see the diseases we treat, and see tangible and visible results of our work– which is very satisfying for us, and also for our patients,” he said.

Dr. Lowe understands that each patient presents with different needs and goals, and he strives to tailor his care approach to ensure every patient’s overall health and happiness.

In his spare time, Dr. Lowe enjoys a slew of outdoor activities with his wife and two daughters– from hiking to fishing to camping. He also enjoys running, cycling, grilling out, and tinkering with his car when time permits.

Dr. Lowe is board certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the Association of Military Dermatologists. He is currently accepting new patients.
